1394 question

hi folks,

i have observed a couple of times that uing the 4pin 1394 connector at both
debugger and debugee doesnt let us connect wndbg. however, the 6->4 or 4->6
works. why is that so?

also is there a way to get the 4->4 working without adding seperat adapters?

thx

AP

  1. What do your 4/4 and 6/4 setups look like? That is, what
brand/chipset adapter are you using on each end? Are the 6 and 4 cards
one and the same, with support for both type of connectors?

Also, what’s windbg reporting?

  1. I’m not sure what you mean here exactly.

Good luck,

mm

This has typically worked fine for me. Perhaps the cable is flaky, or the host controllers are flaky?

OSR has some known-good 1394 PCI cards and CardBus cards that work for KD; you might try just switching to those and avoid the headache altogether.
