I have a XP system with two firewire ports on it how does the OHCI
differentiate the two ports and how does is the a memory address assigned
to each port. How does it select the port while transmitting data?
any kind of information is helpful.

IIRC, for each port Host control driver should assign unique number for each
port while enumerating devices. After this you need to include this numbers
while preparing TD’s. Based on this number device will pick up.
