How to certify keyboard class filter driver

Hi, I’m trying to run HLK certification tests on a keyboard class filter driver, however it doesn’t seem to appear anywhere in the list of the drivers to select for tests. Anything that I’m missing? Thanks

HLK doesn’t test filter drivers (with some file system exceptions). It can test the filtered device stack, so as long as your driver is registered, you can just pick a keyboard device.

Thanks Tim!

For everyone’s information - turned out that for Windows 10 filter drivers actually are visible in the “Software devices” section thus can be certified as unclassified submission, which includes only 2 tests, so way easier than testing the device stack. For older OS it looks like the only option is to test the device stack as Tim suggested.

Ugh… that is the wrong way to test your filter… but if you just want the easiest way, I guess that’s good?

Well I suppose if you find actual value in the WHQL tests, then indeed it
would be wrong. If on the other hand the value obtained is a microsoft
signed driver package, then it is the right way to test.
