PnP IRP question.

Is it possible 3rd-party or system driver sends PnP IRP to a device which does not attach to any other device (like some control device for User mode application) ?

ANYthing is “possible”… what’s you REAL question?

Peter

There are some errors while using SDV . The report indicates a PNP irp send to a DO(for User application control) is not handled correctly.

OK… then you’ll need to handle that PNP IRP correctly, right?

Sorry… I want to be helpful, but I’m not sure what your question is.

Peter

Hi, peter , I want to know whether there is a necessary to fix all warnings for SDV.

Well, to a great extent, YOU have to decide that. The SDV rules are there for a reason. A few of them can be triggered by false alarms, but it you need to be sure before suppressing the warnings.

Please post the EXACT message of the failure, and perhaps some of the code around the failing line.
