windbg setup : Symbol loading problem ....

Hi friends,

I have installed Windows NT 4.0 workstation (Service Pack 5.0) January 2000 on my target and host machine. And using VC++ 6.0 and Windows NT DDK (for Windows NT Workstation 4.0-English) January 2000.

The seial communication between the two machines is done properly…
The windbg is unable to load the symbols (ntoskrnl.dbg and hal.dbg).
I thought the problem could be with the wrong version of SDK being installed…
But I tried with all the versions Microsoft Platform SDKs but none seems to be working …
[I copied ntoskrnl.dbg and hal.dbg from the Windows NT Workstation 4.0 Debug/checked Build January 2000 CD]

If any of you are having the same configuration, then please let me know the right vesion of SDK (preferably with the MSDN subscription label specifying the DISC No, Title, month and year )

Thanking you in advance
Gopikrishna

I suggest trying the latest Windbg at
