Long time no see! I`m back with "another one"
I'd like to believe after all these years messing around with Win/NT API's that I know what I`m doing. However it's seem that I don't, at least in some cases.
In one of my projects I need to open some files and read them (from user-mode not kernel-mode). The error code does not make sense to me as I have checked for file existence and permissions.
My code for opening the file is as follows:
ZwOpenFile(&hFileHandle, FILE_GENERIC_READ, &FileObjectAttributes, &IoStatusBlock, FILE_SHARE_READ, FILE_NON_DIRECTORY_FILE | FILE_SYNCHRONOUS_IO_NONALERT | FILE_OPEN_FOR_BACKUP_INTENT | FILE_COMPLETE_IF_OPLOCKED);
Can someone please shed some light as to why this would fail randomly on random files that actually exist and permissions are not "special"?
