I’ve had a traditional GlobalSign certificate for 8 or 10 years. When
the EV cert requirement came out, I got one from Digicert (because
GlobalSign wasn’t doing them at that point), but I renewed the
GlobalSign one anyway, because it was convenient to have a cert that I
could install, without a token or a password.
The GlobalSign cert is up for renewal again. They are now telling me
that, because of the recommendations of some nameless code signing task
force, ALL of their code-signing certificates must now be token based.Â
They can’t issue me a regular certificate.
Has anyone else run into this? Is the installable certificate now a
dead memory?
