RE:Re[2]: HLK, what the &*$% is going on?

Hi Mike,

I went through the process of setting up some VMs for hlk signing the
last few days, but eventually realized our device drivers just aren’t
supported fully by VMs( we have usb, FireWire and gige devices). I found a
USB passthrough third party application that enumerates USB devices through
the VM, but didn’t find an equivalent solution for the other two
technologies.

I also know that at the moment, hck 8.1 signed drivers can still be
manually installed on win10 machines( I believe we re only testing rs1
builds so far). However we don’t associate our drivers with windows update
for automatic lookup/install upon user plugin, which I assume is the reason
we would need to target all three hlk builds separately and
test/combine/submit?

Thanks for keeping updated on your progress

Tim,

I just started setting up the RS2 HLK and it looks like it is going to be
more complicated. The new HLK (15063) still won’t allow a Win10 1511 and
a Win10 1607 target on the same Project for the same device. So now my
scripts will have to have 3 projects and then I’ll have to merge the hckx
into the 1511 hlkx, then merge that into the 1607 hlkx, then merge that
into the 1703 hlkx. Then FINALLY i can submit.
