Of course, the “simple” work-around for this is to rename your files from .C to .CPP… which is what I’ve been recommending people do for, oh, about 100 years now. Strong type checking rules!

But there are people (Mr. Burn, where are you!?) who think this is a terrible solution and feels so strongly about it that, IIRC, he once called me “STUPID!!!” for doing it.

I think the most interesting problem this causes, frankly, is the fact that the “starter drivers” (New Project… Type… Windows Driver… WDF… KMDF) produce files named with .C file extensions, so the people most likely to encounter this will be driver newbies.

I hope they know enough to come to this forum so we can help them,
