SR-IOV support in Windows "8"

In case you’re curious, one of the PMs that I’ve been working with for a
while now just put up a series of blog posts about SR-IOV support in the
next version of Windows Server. Back in 2007, I was kvetching to Doron that
I didn’t want to start something that would take five years to deliver. He
laughed and me and reminded me both that I was the only one who was likely
to take it on and that I should just suck up and go earn my pay. And if
you’re wondering how something can take five years, think through how many
layers of software this represents.

Here are some links to the blog posts. Questions are welcome.

I will certainly look at it… For about 2 yrs, 2009 to 2011 May, I was
working on sr-iov and reviewing mr-iov docs ( to understand the directions
we are heading)… I know you would not mention here, but what the heck -
I saw your name on the SR-IOV spec’s steering committee.

For virtualization, that’s the right direction IMO.

Thanks for sharing the docs
