INF File DriverVer Problem

Hi,

I have a problem with the DriverVer entry in Windows 2000 INF file.
I made the following entry.
DriverVer=01/27/2000, 1.0.0.0

Windows 2000 is not able to show the driver date in the device
manager. But the version is displayed correct.
When I now try to update the driver Windows 2000 can not detect a
new inf on the disc. Instead it always uses a old copy on the
harddisk.

I also tried wustamp to set version and date with same result.

Can anybody tell what inf entrys are needed to get this running?

thanks in advance

Martin

Acording to my understanding, the date will only be shown if the driver has
been approved by WHQL.

As an aside, if your driver doesn’t touch hardware (filters, NDIS protocol,
etc), then there is no method to get it approved. Hence, it will always have
this distinction seen in the Device Manager.

See the “Driver Signing” topic…

Is your driver signed?

The Date is ignored for unsigned drivers.
