I have seen my computer hang a few times and I’d like to force a blue
screen/crash dump to diagnose in case it’s my file system minifilter at
fault. I’ve read a few places on line that you can set a CrashOnCtrlScroll
value under i8042prt/Parameters, which will enable a blue screen by clicking
the right-Ctrl key and the Scroll Lock keys.
It works great on Win XP, but doesn’t seem to work on Vista 64-bit or
Win2008 64-bit. Does anyone know if there is a new/other method of
triggering a blue screen/dump from the keyboard?

I have used Mark’s BANG! CrashOnDemand -utility for Win Vista & Win 7
bluescreen-“fethcing”.
It is not a pure cause-BSOD-with-keyboard-combo-tool, but if you wan’t
to try it, you can find it from magnicifient OSROnline-url: http://www.osronline.com/article.cfm?article=153
Ahhh, didn’t realize there were different settings for USB vs PS/2
keyboards. Thanks!
