Info on annoying but fun bug in format

If you have a disk with a 2G NTFS partition and a 2G some other fs
partition, deletes both, create a new 4G partition and then try to format it
to NTFS format will se the old NTFS structures on disk (since repartioning
only change partition table and not on disk data) thinks its a 2G FS and
refuse to format it to anything other than 2G.

I had to boot on a Linux diskette and whipe the disk clean with a nice
command called “dd”. Then format thinks its a new 4G disk and happely
formats it to 4G NTFS.

Only with Microsoft you get in to adventures like this.
