WDK 6000

I’ve just installed the latest WDK 6000 on a Vista system. However, the release notes say:
“Use the WDK build environments in this version of the WDK for evaluation and preview purposes only.
Do not use these WDK build environments for production-level coding.
At this time, you should use the Windows Server 2003 SP1 DDK for production.”
Well! Why is it not called a Beta?
Richard.

This is a documentation mistake. It has been discussed in this forum and
others several times. The WDK is not beta, just ignore the statement.

The release notes are bogus. WDK 6000 is released and is the supported
and preferred toolkit for all driver development for currently supported
platforms. This bogosity has been reported here before but does not seem
to get fixed. Enter a bug (but “how” is always a good question.) My
guess is that the cost of fixing vs the impact will result in a no
action decision.
